Is there an alternative to fitness clubs?

How and where to train – this question is asked by many who wish to finally take up their bodies, to return the former elasticity to muscles and endurance of the cardiovascular system. It would seem that the choice is obvious – to purchase a subscription to the fitness club. It remains only to determine the type of the latter: democratic or elitist, close to home or close to office.

But take a closer look at your friends and acquaintances, who are the happy owners of club cards. At the same time, did they look more slender and fit, did they acquire the desired athletic qualities along with the season ticket, the new equipment and the sports bag that always sits in the back seat of the car? How is it that these people completed their path to “big fitness”, barely starting?

It is not by chance that the main revenue of fitness clubs is formed by customers who bought an annual subscription and visited gyms from strength 5-6 times. Statistics ironically shows us a huge excess of the number of those who bought the right to visit the halls above their maximum capacity. If all potential athletes began to regularly visit clubs, the effect would be akin to the simultaneous circulation of depositors to the bank for their money.

Is there an alternative to fitness clubs?

But fitness – clubs go broke much less often than credit institutions. In this, an elementary marketing move helps them – to create at the time of purchasing a subscription the illusion of introducing peace and health to the newcomer, to make the newcomer feel in one team with slender and attractive young men and women who display their perfect forms from the club’s posters. All this as if by magic will automatically happen to you after purchasing a club ticket. A round-the-year annual pass to this world allows us to postpone his visit to better times without thinking, not forgetting, however, periodically to remind colleagues and friends of your involvement in the world of fitness, showing a nominal subscription to the popular club.

But not everyone who wants to put himself in shape is so naive and dependent on value judgment from the outside. Many take the case with the firm intention to work hard on their bodies. Why, then, with all the visible benefits of regular visits and systematic workouts in the comfortable conditions of modern halls under the supervision of experienced instructors, people seem to be strong-willed and not throwing promises (including self-made data) people also reduce their training activity over time, and then completely stop coming to the hall.

Maybe the whole reason is not in the weakness of visitors, but in the non-physiological process of training on artificial load simulators in confined spaces. The body, after several trainings in conditions alien to natural needs, is looking for all possible ways to avoid it. Signals are sent to them various – from lethargy and laziness to pain in the muscles. And now even the most stubborn gym athlete, having gone through a couple of times himself and having done hateful and rejected workouts by the body, has to give up and join the ranks of the sponsors of the same and club networks.

Is there an alternative to fitness clubs?

But if this is the case with fitness clubs, then where should a city dweller go to the one who suffers strength and endurance; his age and status do not allow him to join the ranks of newcomers to the sports sections, whose discipline and regularity of visits are ensured by the coach’s unquestioned authority. Well, become a trainer and an instructor yourself, and there are no less places for training in the city than clubs: numerous stadiums and parks, playgrounds and squares. All you need is the simplest gymnastic equipment and paths for movement.

No perfect air-conditioning of the halls will replace the fresh air of the stadium or the park. Fast walking and running over rough terrain will strengthen your joints and muscles much faster than treadmill walking along the treadmill, further contributing to the hardening of your body. The body will respond to such loads with pleasant fatigue and subsequent vigor. The newest simulators do not compare in terms of the effectiveness and completeness of coverage of working muscle groups with conventional horizontal bars and bars.

It is not by chance that many visitors to the fitness halls, having tortured at first for exercise machines that look beautiful but not conducive to muscle growth, end up returning to the “grandfather’s” methods of gaining muscle mass – exercises with your own body and free weights.

So, let us remember that often, the simpler, the better, and we understand that our image of an active and energetic modern person forms a sporting constitution visible with the naked eye, rather than ostentatious attributes of involvement in the fitness industry.
