Self discipline in sport

For the athlete discipline is very important. Without it, nowhere. After all, you need to go to workouts, abide by the diet, go to bed in time. It is necessary to limit yourself in many ways.

Self-discipline needs to be developed. This is done simply. It is necessary to remember that if you have to do something, you will do it. And not otherwise. You decided to, say, wake up at 5:00. Everything! You must wake up anyway. That’s because you decide. Their decisions can not be changed. Otherwise, it will turn out that you are giving up your words and deeds, and this is mean and do not do so well.

So, in the development of self-discipline should begin with the core. The main thing is to force yourself to go to bed at one time and get up at the same time. And so every day for 3 weeks, without exception. For example, every day you go to bed at 23:00 and wake up at 07:00. The exception is not even Sunday. Having lasted so 2 weeks, you self-respect.

The same goes for food. deciding to go in for sports, you cannot continue to eat everything. Ideally, you should eat small portions of healthy food 4-5 times a day. Some favorite and familiar dishes will have to be abandoned, it is not always easy, but the result is worth it. Many athletes, both beginners and professional, are switching to a special sports nutrition, including protein shakes and bars, dietary supplements and other drugs.

Next, you should bind yourself to certain actions. For example, do exercises in the morning. And also, every day. At least 15 minutes you devote to charging, every day for 3 weeks. From the second week you will do it without even thinking.

In addition to physical bindings, mental bindings are necessary. This is easy to do. Make it a rule every day, read a book before bedtime. No matter what it will be, a textbook, fiction, poetry – the main thing to read before bedtime. This will load your brain, make it work before bedtime. And so on for, again, 3 weeks.

Why always 3 weeks? The fact is that in order for any action to become a habit of a person, you just need to repeat it for 3 weeks. When 21 days pass, the habit will remain, and you yourself will not notice how you will repeat the same thing day after day.

Learn to come everywhere in advance. At least do not be late. Give yourself a little temporary allowance. You will be respected for this, and again you will become more disciplined.

After 3 weeks, when you went to bed every day and got up at the same time, read bedtime and did exercises in the morning, you will notice changes in yourself. This will help not only in sports. In all life it is useful. You and your loved ones will appreciate this.
